PST is one of the few preparedness podcasts that have bothered to touch on the importance of financial planning as a prep. Over two decades, I've known dozens of preppers who never bothered to plan for their financial future because that 'ole economic collapse was going to happen any day. They are regretting that now in their 60's and 70's. Not saying it won't happen eventually but always good to hedge your bets. One of the best quotes I've ever read stated "the one thing most preppers fail to prepare for is simply dying of old age".

There's a lot of time spent preparing for contingencies while neglecting the known threats: health, old age, etc. They're not mutually exclusive. Every plan should include both.
