Thanks. That's sound advice. It's good to study a thing until we get it
It's easy to get spun in too many directions at one time and kinda end up nowhere. I'm a country girl, so I know some things just from growing up in the sticks. I can float down a river naked if my clothes float ahead on a log. Whoah.
I will definitely get the book. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm a big believer in self sufficient habits. Got a lot to learn. But our Giant garden and canning is coming in the spring, its a start. I may even try canning some roast deer. Love your podcast. I thank you all so much.
All of us start somewhere - the beginning. Gardening and canning are importing skills that not a lot of people know how to do anymore. So, you’re ahead of the pack in that regard. Keep building and adding to your skill set one day at a time.
Just a comment on, "Though shalt not kill." Quoted from the 10 commandments of The Holy Bible, Exodus chapter 20. In the Old Testament originally written un Hebrew, and the New, originally written in Greek. The word, kill, translates, do no murder, criminal homicide. As a lawyer, Mark surely understands they are not the same thing. Many hard-core badass warriors in the Bible. If you don't think God backs them up, only when they keep God with them however, read Psalm 144. It's a warriors song. David, a mere child took out philistine or palestinian Goliath the giant after all. But he clearly stated why he was able. David came in the name of The Lord God of hosts. Hosts are warriors.
Just thought it would be a fitting comment since you brought up spirituality in this podcast. Not to get all holy Joe on ya.
Great podcast. I will certainly read some of the books mentioned.
Hey Paige. I agree 100%. Also, although we didn't dwell long on that point, that's what Clay was getting at. He said "you shall not kill, " in the original language is written, "you shall not murder." Thanks for listening and for your comments on the show. I love hearing your thoughts! If you were to start with one of Clay's books, I would recommend "Concrete Jungle." It's non-fiction and gives some great practical tips on how to get prepared and organized to better navigating the chaos.
That one's definitely on my list. I've read Concrete Jungle, Wrath of the W, and Barbarian Spirit. I'm torn on whether to do SOLWG or Prairie Fire next. Which would you recommend?
If it were me, I'd definitely start at the beginning, but Prairie Fire was truly educational and a wonderful read. I have the kindle of Barbarian Spirit, but haven't opened it yet. This conversation will put it at the top of my read list.
I have to think Clay would feel a bit smug about his "novel-ology" or whatever being discussed....

Great write up
Thank you, sir! Much appreciated.
Your welcome

And, as a first novel and a great means of insight into Clay, "The Last Son of the War God" is a wonderful read.
Mr. Martin is like the "everyday guy Super Warrior" for the masses, teaching but not condescending. Incredible asset.
I would love to buy him a beer.
Onward, Christian soldiers!
Awesome. Thx for the tip!
